As the Media Specialist at George Washington Carver Institute, I believe that all children should enjoy reading and be allowed to read the genres that they enjoy.  Furthermore, children should be exposed to all types of technology to prepare them for the future.

Read Across America
A big Carver thank-you to all Carver community members who came out on March 2, 2017 to celebrate reading. Carver staff members read their favorite stories to families who visited classrooms. The event ended with singing Happy Birthday and eating cake!!! A great time was had by all!!!
Read- Across- America Celebration
Carver Institute will be hosting a Read- Across- America celebration on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 5:30 PM- 7:15 PM. It will begin in the Carver cafeteria. Come on out and support this event. It will include Carver staff members reading their favorite books. A birthday celebration in honor of Dr. Suess will follow with birthday cake, provided by the EOEA. Please come dressed as your favorite book character!
United Way Celebrity Read
George Washington Carver Institute is proud to host the United Way Celebrity Read program. It will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017. We are very excited to have our celebrity guests read to us!!!
Welcome to the 2016-2017 School Year!!!

Summer has officially ended and the 2016-2017 Carver School year has begun!!! It promises to be an exciting and rewarding year in the library. Many new books have arrived and they are waiting to be read!!! There are also over 30 titles in the Carver eBook library. I look forward to working with the Carver students, staff and extended family. Thank you for your continued encouragement and support. Please check webpage periodically for new announcements.

Circulation Policy
  • Grades 2 and 5 - one book per week.
  • If you lose or damage a book a fine will be charged.
  • All books must be returned by the end of the year or a fine will be charged.
